See segments below for more details.

  • The Bikini category is designed to find athletes with a fit and shapely body that is not heavily muscled or over defined.

Competitors are judged in 2 rounds:

    Round 1 - Fitness & Balance

Fitness and balance in the Bikini division is achieved through a lightly muscled and not overly lean or hard appearing physique as compared to Figure, Fit Body, or Bodybuilding.

✔️ One hand placed on the hip on front and side poses

✔️ Hands shall be placed on the thighs or hip flexors on the back pose

✔️ Hair shall be swept to the front and lats lightly flared forward to display nice shape on the back pose

    Round 2 Physical Appearance

Physical Appearance refers to the overall appearance of the athlete. Stage presentation, hair, tanning, make up, and suit choice are encompassed in this round.

See posing for this round in the ‘Mandatory Poses’ tab below.

  • Judges will score each round and give competitors a final placement for that round before moving on to the next round.

For example, if there are 8 people in the class the judging panel will place athletes 1st thru 8th in each round. When judging is complete both scores (2) will be added together to come up with the final placement for each competitor in that class.

Please note that only the top 3 athletes for each class get awarded. Only the top 5 will be provided with their placings.

  • We have recently introduced a new section on our website titled 'Poses,' showcasing the mandatory quarter turns and poses essential for our shows 🤩. Check it out HERE

The information below outlines competitor’s poses for each round.

    Round 1 - Fitness & Balance

Competitors must perform the 4 mandatory quarter turns.

    1.Face front:

Hips and toes shall be positioned forward.

One leg is extended to the side. Either leg is acceptable.

One hand must be on the hip, the other arm should hang down below the hips (not extended to the side).

Arms should not be raised or spread wide impeding in another competitors space next to you.

Lats should be open but not overly flared as in Figure.

A slight twist is allowed as long as both hips and shoulders are visible from the front.

    2.Quarter turn to the right

From the front. Competitors execute a 1/4 turn to the right and adjust stance: Upper body turned 35 degrees towards judges, so the rear shoulder can be seen.

The hips face the side of the stage; you may twist your shoulders towards the judges. Turn your head and look directly at the audience/judges.

The front foot may be offset. A slight lift of the heal onto the toe is permitted. Long hair should be pushed back behind the shoulder. The rear hand is placed on the hip, the other hanging freely.

    3.Face back of stage

From the side pose, competitors execute a 1/4 turn to the right and face the rear of the stage.

Heels can either be together or spaced less than shoulder width apart. Weight can be centered or shifted to either side. Other options for leg positions include legs crossed over and feet in a staggered T position.

Arm position is optional and can include arms down, or arms placed at top of thighs. One hand on the hip does not apply in the back pose.

Lats will be open but not over flared to show upper body shape

Hair should be pushed to the front.

At no time during the rear stance is a competitor permitted to turn their head to look at the judges.

Standing in a wide straddle or bending over excessively is not permitted and will be scored down.

At any time if competitors posing does not meet the criteria the head judge will issue a general warning.

If It is not corrected they may call the specific athlete number to correct an issue. If the competitor still does not correct an issue the competitor may be scored down.

    4.Quarter turn to the right

    Same as first side pose

    Round 2 - Physical Appearance

Athletes will be asked to perform an I-Walk.

✔️ The I-Walk is the competitor’s opportunity to show grace, poise and confidence.

The I-Walk will consist of a front pose of the athlete’s choice at the rear centre stage and a walk to the center front.

The competitor will then present their front, preferred side, and back pose plus any other poses/transitions of their choice and exit through the right side of the stage (the same way they entered)

✔️ In this round the Bikini athlete can perform WNBF Bikini approved poses of their choice or simply perform each one of the mandatory quarter turn poses .

✔️ The I-Walk will be done to music selected by WNBF Australia.

✔️ Poses should not be held for more than 3 seconds each

✔️ 35 seconds is the maximum time allocated for the I-Walk

✔️Overall stage presence – judges will assess competitor’s ability to confidently and seamlessly execute quarter turns within a stage walk.

❌ Bodybuilding, Figure or Fit Body poses are not allowed.
